How to rotate or flip a video for reliable playback
Some phone videos store sideways pixels plus rotation metadata. Players usually honor that metadata, but editing and upload workflows can disagree. Re-encoding the intended orientation and clearing rotation metadata produces a more consistent result.

Rotation and flipping are different
