What does Subtitle Delay Fixer do?
Subtitle Delay Fixer moves every cue by one offset. Upload an SRT or VTT file, or paste the text. Set milliseconds or seconds, choose earlier or later, or use a preset. The preview shows the cue count, the earliest and latest cue, and any warnings. The download uses the same format as the input. Caption text is not rewritten.

Supported inputs and outputs
Inputs
SRT or VTT file, Pasted subtitle text
Outputs
SRT or VTT with shifted timestamps
Practical uses
- Fixing captions that start too early
- Delaying every cue after a new intro
- Checking overlap warnings after a shift
Browser and media limitations
- Cues moved before 00:00:00.000 are clamped to the start, and the cue length is kept.
- Clamping can change the gap before the next cue.
- The tool shifts timing. It does not translate or rewrite caption text.
- A shift has to be a whole number of milliseconds within 24 hours.
How local processing works
Your file is processed in this browser tab and is not uploaded to a media server. This tool does not download a video engine. Page navigation and analytics still use network requests. Download the result before closing the tab.
Frequently asked questions
Does this change the caption words?
No. Only the timestamps move. The cue text is written back as it was parsed.
What happens to a cue that would start before zero?
Its start is clamped to 00:00:00.000 and its length is kept, so the end moves later too.
Can I use both SRT and VTT?
Yes. The download matches the detected format.
Are the subtitles uploaded?
No. Parsing and shifting happen in this browser tab.
