What does Video Speed Changer do?

Tubelexity changes the playback speed of a whole video or a selected time range. Choose 0.25× through 4×, preview the expected duration, preserve audio pitch when supported or mute the track, and export a locally re-encoded MP4 or WebM. Unaffected sections stay at normal speed in range mode.

How to use Video Speed Changer

  1. 1Choose a local video.
  2. 2Select a speed preset or enter a custom value from 0.25× to 4×.
  3. 3Apply the change to the whole video or set a non-zero time range.
  4. 4Preview playback, choose pitch and output settings, then export.

Practical uses

  • Creating a time-lapse
  • Slowing a demonstration
  • Speeding up one tutorial section
  • Producing a compact review clip

Browser and media limitations

  • Changing speed requires re-encoding.
  • Browser preview pitch can differ slightly from export.
  • Very slow or fast settings can show repeated frames or audio artifacts.
  • Variable-frame-rate sources can have approximate range boundaries.

How local processing works

Processing runs locally in your browser with FFmpeg.wasm. The media engine is downloaded on first use, but your media is not sent to Tubelexity or a processing server.

Frequently asked questions

Can I speed up a video without changing the pitch?

Yes. Pitch-preserving audio tempo filters are chained across the supported speed range.

Can I slow down only part of a video?

Yes. Range mode changes one validated section and joins it with the unaffected sections.

Does changing speed reduce quality?

The video is re-encoded, so quality depends on the chosen setting and extreme speeds may look less smooth.

What speed should I use for a time-lapse?

Start at 2× for a modest increase; 3× or 4× is more compact but can feel abrupt.

Is the tool watermark-free?

Yes. Tubelexity does not add a watermark.
