How to change video speed and preserve understandable audio
Changing video speed alters duration and presentation timing. Video timestamps are scaled, while pitch-preserving audio needs tempo filters. Extreme slowdowns or speedups can reveal repeated frames, motion judder or audio artifacts.

Speed, duration and pitch
Output duration is source duration divided by the speed multiplier. A 60-second clip at 2× becomes about 30 seconds; at 0.5× it becomes about 120 seconds. Pitch preservation changes tempo without deliberately raising or lowering voices.
Changing only one section
Range mode splits the video into before, changed and after segments. Each segment receives fresh timestamps before concatenation so unaffected parts remain at normal speed.
Quality limitations
Speed changes require re-encoding. Very slow output has no new captured frames, and very fast output discards temporal detail. Variable-frame-rate boundaries can remain approximate.
