Add Text to Video

Burn timed text into a local video's picture using bundled Noto Sans fonts. Choose text size, color, position, offsets and a background box, render a representative frame, then export MP4 with audio. Processing is local; burned-in text cannot be switched off and export re-encodes the video.

Text overlay

Preview renders the midpoint of the text interval with the same bundled Noto Sans fonts as export. Text is burned into pixels; MP4 re-encodes video at 30 fps and keeps the first audio track as AAC. Unsupported glyphs (including some emoji and scripts) may appear as boxes.

What does Add Text to Video do?

Use timed burn-in for a speaker name, title or callout that must appear without subtitle support. Positions and offsets use source pixels. The renderer fills sparse picture intervals and exports at 30 fps, while the representative preview samples the middle of the text interval.

  2. 2Set the start and end time, font size, position and box settings.

Outputs

MP4 with burned-in text

Practical uses

  • Prepare and review a creator recording with add text to video.

Browser and media limitations

  • Processing is local; burned-in text cannot be switched off and export re-encodes the video.
  • Large files can exceed browser memory. Playback and codec support differ by browser.

How local processing works

Your media is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded to Tubelexity for processing. Page requests, engine downloads and privacy-filtered analytics still use the network.

Frequently asked questions

Can viewers turn the text off?

No. Burn-in becomes part of the video pixels. Use a subtitle file if viewers need selectable captions.

Are system fonts used?

No. The renderer loads bundled Noto Sans subsets. Some scripts and emoji are not covered and may render as missing glyphs.

What does the frame preview show?

It uses the export renderer at the midpoint of the selected text interval. Render again after changing settings.

Will sound be preserved?

The first audio track is kept and encoded as AAC when present. The video is re-encoded to H.264.
