What does Audio Converter do?

Tubelexity converts common audio formats locally with FFmpeg.wasm. Choose MP3, PCM WAV, AAC in an M4A container, or Opus in WebM, then control bitrate, sample rate, and mono or stereo output. Preview browser-supported sources and results, compare file sizes, and download with the correct extension.

Supported inputs and outputs

Inputs

MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, WebM/Opus

Outputs

MP3, PCM WAV, M4A/AAC, WebM/Opus

Practical uses

  • Preparing audio for an editor
  • Making a smaller listening copy
  • Changing sample rate or channels
  • Creating uncompressed PCM audio

Browser and media limitations

  • Codec support depends on the bundled FFmpeg core.
  • Some M4A files cannot be previewed natively.
  • WAV output can be much larger.
  • Large audio files require substantial browser memory.

How local processing works

Processing uses FFmpeg.wasm locally in this browser. The media engine downloads on first use, but the selected media and result are not uploaded to Tubelexity or a processing server.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert audio for free?

Yes. Conversion runs locally without credits, an account, or a watermark.

Which audio formats are supported?

The interface supports MP3, PCM WAV, M4A/AAC, and WebM/Opus when FFmpeg can decode the source.

Why is AAC downloaded as M4A?

AAC is the codec and M4A is the appropriate audio container and filename extension.

Can I convert stereo to mono?

Yes. Choose mono or stereo output.

Is audio uploaded to a server?

No. FFmpeg.wasm processes it locally.
