What does Remove Image Metadata do?
Tubelexity inspects embedded image metadata, calls out GPS and other sensitive fields, then creates a browser-re-encoded privacy-clean copy with visible orientation applied. The generated file is read again to verify which detectable fields were removed and what remains. No image, coordinates or metadata are sent to a server.

Browser and media limitations
- Browser re-encoding can change compression and file size, so removal is not described as lossless.
- Narrow removal targets can still remove all metadata because reliable privacy uses a clean re-encode.
- HEIC metadata inspection is limited by container and decoder support.
- Unknown proprietary maker notes may only be detected as raw EXIF data.
- Color-profile behavior can vary between browser encoders.

Tubelexity creates the new file, reads its bytes again with the same shared metadata engine and reports remaining detectable fields.

Yes. GPS is marked with a visible privacy warning and is absent from the verified clean re-encode.
Why can the cleaned file be larger?
Re-encoding uses the browser encoder, whose compression can differ from the original camera or editor.
