Blur Video

Blurs, pixelates or covers rectangular regions you place on a local video, then exports MP4. The regions stay where you put them for the times you choose. They do not follow people or objects that move. Blur strength, pixel size and a solid box are the available effects. Audio is kept when the source has a soundtrack. Processing stays in this browser.

Accepted formats:

Blur softens a rectangle, pixelate replaces it with a coarse grid, and a solid box covers it with a color. The rectangle stays where you put it. It does not follow a moving person or object.

What does Blur Video do?

Blur Video hides part of a local picture with a rectangle you place. Gaussian blur softens the pixels inside the box. Pixelate rebuilds that box from a coarse grid of neighboring pixels. A solid censor draws a flat color at the opacity you choose. You can use up to four regions, each with its own start and end. Coordinates are pixels in the source frame, and the encoder snaps them to even numbers so the picture stays compatible with H.264. The box does not follow a face, a plate or any other moving object. If the subject leaves the rectangle, it leaves the effect. The export is re-encoded, and the soundtrack is kept when the file has one.

How to use Blur Video

  1. 1Upload a video and draw a rectangle, or type the coordinates.
  2. 2Choose blur, pixelate or a solid box, then set strength and timing.
  3. 3Add another region only if you need more than one static area.
  4. 4Export the MP4. Cancel stops the local job.

Supported inputs and outputs

Inputs

One local video, such as MP4, MOV or WebM

Outputs

MP4 with the soundtrack kept when the source has audio

Practical uses

  • Covering a static logo or sign
  • Pixelating a corner that stays in frame
  • Hiding part of a screen recording for a known time range

Browser and media limitations

  • Regions are static. They do not track people or objects that move.
  • There is no automatic face, plate or object detection.
  • The picture is re-encoded. Blur cannot be copied through as an untouched stream.
  • Very large videos can run out of browser memory. The engine downloads on first export.

How local processing works

Your media is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded to Tubelexity for processing. The media engine downloads on first export. Page navigation and analytics still use network requests.

Blur, pixelation and a box that does not move

Gaussian blur averages neighboring pixels, so detail fades without an obvious grid. Pixelation scales the box down with nearest-neighbor sampling and scales it back up, which leaves the blocks visible on purpose. A solid box is just a filled color for the times you set.

The export has to be encoded again because the pixels changed. Nothing in this tool estimates where a person will be in the next frame.

Frequently asked questions

Will the blur follow a moving face?

No. The rectangle stays at the coordinates and times you set. Move or resize it yourself if the subject moves.

What is the difference between blur and pixelate?

Blur softens detail with a Gaussian filter. Pixelate replaces the box with a visible grid of large pixels.

Can I type the coordinates?

Yes. X, Y, width and height are number fields, as well as the drag box on the preview.

Is the video uploaded?

No. The file stays in this browser tab. The media engine downloads on first export.
