What does Lower Thirds Maker do?
Lower Thirds Maker draws a name and an optional second line over a local video for the times you set. Minimal is text with a thin outline. Bar, Boxed, Simple Left and Simple Right put the words on a colored bar. Accent Line adds a short bar beside the text. The type is the bundled Noto Sans font, not a font fetched from your computer. On a large frame the text sits about 48 pixels in from the edges; on a small frame that margin shrinks so the title still fits. Fade and slide are real timed subtitle moves. They are skipped when the cue is shorter than about half a second, because a 180 millisecond fade would not fit. The picture is re-encoded. Audio is kept when the file has it.
How to use Lower Thirds Maker
- 1Upload a video and enter the name and optional second line.
- 2Choose a template, colors, size, position and the start and end.
- 3Turn fade or slide on only when the title is on screen long enough.
- 4Export the MP4. Cancel stops the local job.
Supported inputs and outputs
Inputs
One local video, such as MP4, MOV or WebM
Outputs
MP4 with the soundtrack kept when the source has audio
Practical uses
- Naming a speaker in an interview
- Adding a short title bar to a clip
- Placing a label in a corner for part of a video
Browser and media limitations
- Fade and slide are omitted when the title is on screen for less than about half a second.
- The title uses the bundled Noto Sans font. Other fonts on your computer are not used.
- The graphic does not follow a moving subject. Position is fixed for the whole cue.
- The picture is re-encoded. The engine downloads on first export.
How local processing works
Your media is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded to Tubelexity for processing. The media engine downloads on first export. Page navigation and analytics still use network requests.
Timed overlays, fonts and title margins
The title is a timed subtitle event, so it appears at the start you set and disappears at the end. Fade and slide are moves inside that event. They are not a separate animation track, and they are left out when the cue is too short to show them.
Noto Sans is packed with the page so the export does not depend on a font being installed. The margin stays near 48 pixels on a normal frame and gets smaller on a tiny frame so the words are not pushed outside the picture.
Frequently asked questions
Which font is used?
The export uses the bundled Noto Sans files. A font installed only on your computer is not read.
Do the templates animate?
Fade and slide are written into the subtitle timing when the cue is long enough. Shorter cues stay still.
Can the title follow a person?
No. The position stays where you place it from the start time to the end time.
Is the video uploaded?
No. The file stays in this browser tab. The media engine downloads on first export.
