What does Webcam Recorder do?

Webcam Recorder captures a talking-head take without a full video editor. The live preview is muted to prevent feedback. Input tracks are stopped when recording ends, when a device ends unexpectedly, or when you leave the tool. Restart a take to switch cameras or microphones.

How to use Webcam Recorder

  3. 3Check the live preview; mirror it if desired, then pause/resume or stop.
  4. 4Review the unmirrored saved recording and download it.

Browser and media limitations

  • Camera access requires HTTPS and explicit permission.
  • Another application or disconnected camera can prevent capture.
  • Device changes apply to the next recording, not mid-take.
  • Preview mirroring is not a saved-video transformation.
  • Background/mobile browser behavior and available memory limit long takes.

How local processing works

Camera, microphone and screen permissions are requested only after you press Start. The recording stays in browser memory and is not sent to Tubelexity. Stop or Cancel releases the input tracks; leaving the route also releases them. Download recordings before leaving.

Frequently asked questions

Is the downloaded webcam recording mirrored?

No. Only the live preview is mirrored by the toggle. The native camera stream is recorded unchanged.

Can I record without microphone audio?

Yes. Turn off Include microphone before starting the take.

When is the camera released?

Stop, Cancel, a fatal error or leaving the route stops the capture tracks. Pause intentionally keeps the camera shared.

Why will my camera not start?

Check browser site permissions, confirm the selected camera is connected, and close another app that may have exclusive access.
